Crocosmia

Often seen as an iconic Cornish plant that used to be known as Monbretia. Very widely spread over the Reserve, often in thick and spreading clumps. It is important to thin out and resrtict clumps so that they don't spread. Use mattocks or spades to dig up the corms (bulb like structures under the soil) and roots. Sometimes the patches are very thick and may need spraying. Try not to dig up while in flower.
